Check it out! We have covers for our two novellas now! Beyond Temptation is currently available in the MARKED anthology, and will be releasing on its own in June. Beyond Solitude’s “official” release date is May 1st, though you’ll be able to get the ebook early (and cheaper!) as part of an exclusive deal. More details on that coming next week, wheee!
Click to see them larger! And also take note–the novella covers will have this specific design, with the logo in the middle & the text on the bottom. We wanted them to stand out from the novels to make it easier to tell whether you’re looking at a full length book or a novella.
Since novellas are still a very new addition to the Beyond world, I thought I’d pop over here and say a few words about why we’ve decided to try a few, what sorts of stories we’ll be telling with them, and how they’ll be different from the books.
First off, this spring is a bit of an experiment. We considered doing a novella prequel to the BEYOND world in the beginning, but we weren’t sure we could introduce the world the way we wanted to in a short format. So we wrote three full books before we started Beyond Temptation, which was meant to be a small side-trip that explored a few things our main cast might not have reason to discuss or see.
And that was kind of fun!
Sector Four is awesome, and writing about the O’Kanes lets us explore the higher level politics happening in the world. But it doesn’t always give us a chance to show how life is for people who don’t travel in Dallas and Lex’s inner circles. So in Beyond Solitude, we decided to take it a step further into the shadows. Ford is an O’Kane who lives on the fringes of the group, spending most of his time negotiating with the farms and communes to ensure Dallas has the supplies he needs to make liquor. Mia is a refugee from Sector Two, someone who looked to Lex for the courage to walk away from her patron and reach for a life of independence.
It’s our hope that the novellas will add to the world, but neither Beyond Temptation nor Beyond Solitude are integral to the overall series plot. You’ll definitely see some of your favorite O’Kanes in the background, but the focus is tighter on the two characters and on the little bits of the world that the full length novels don’t always get to visit.
If you like them, let us know! Like I said, these first two are a bit of an experiment, so how many more we write depends on whether you guys buy them and whether you love them. 🙂
Format note: because some people have already asked this, it’s our intention to try to make each of these novellas available (on its own) in print. Print on Demand technology & pricing being what it is, we can’t promise that they’ll be cheap–but for those of you who just love having everything match, we see no reason not to give you the option!
This is only a test! Can you see the playlist? 😀 Let us know!

I’m just doing some house cleaning this weekend, trying to get our information organized in a way that’s a lot easier to manage and find! This is the first step…a slightly updated design. 😀 Once we’ve got Beyond Jealousy out into the world, we’ll be working on more goodies for the website, including some extra content, information about the characters and sectors, and maybe a few more free reads. 😀
In the meantime, poke around, give us a shout if anything is missing or broken, and wheeeeee! Count down to Beyond Jealousy because it’s so close, I can almost taste it.
(It tastes like whiskey, of course.)
Three stories of passion, possession, and ink.
New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author Lauren Dane takes you into a brand new world in ALL THAT REMAINS. Summer Killian falls fast and hard when Charlie arrives in Paradise Village. But the heat turns all the way up when she learns Charlie is also with Hatch – the man she loved four years before. While she’s not sure she’s cut out for a triad, neither man is going to give her up.
Take a ROCKY RIDE with New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author Vivian Arend as she leads you back to the Six Pack Ranch. Anna Coleman might be the law around Rocky Mountain House, but bad boy Mitch Thompson knows that under the stiff RCMP uniform is a woman with a passion for speed and pleasure that matches his own, and he’s not giving up until she’s his.
Kit Rocha returns to Sector Four in BEYOND TEMPTATION. A promise to a dying friend backfires when Noah Lennox finds that the girl he was supposed to rescue is all grown up–and wearing O’Kane ink. He wants to protect her from the secrets of their past, but she wants him. And an O’Kane woman always gets what she wants.
This is a fast contest, since release day is just around the corner. Sign up below and we’ll pick 25 winners at 5PM on Friday to get their very own copies.
What. I have a dramatic streak. Surely that’s not a surprise at this point. 😉
So, we sat down, took a deep breath, and made the commitment. Barring another disaster like Snowpocalypse Two, Beyond Jealousy should be hitting your ereaders on March 17th.
(Six weeks? YIKES!)
Ace, Cruz & Rachel have taken us on a crazy, emotional journey. There have been times when I was pretty sure we weren’t going to make it through this book, because so much pain, and so much dirty, and Ace, oh my god, the stuff that comes out of his mouth, and it figures he’d corrupt Cruz, too, and–
Well. You’ll find out. In six weeks. 😉
Just popping in here with a few updates!
First: the blurb for BEYOND JEALOUSY is live. You can read it here, or read it + a super dirty little snippet of the book here.
We posted a big old update with our upcoming release dates on Facebook. The important details:
February 11th: BEYOND CONTROL releases in audio, produced by Tantor Audio.
March 17th: BEYOND PAIN releases in audio as well!
March ??: BEYOND JEALOUSY! No exact date yet, but we are MOSTLY certain we’ll be ready for release in March, baring any horrible life complications. (Knocking on all the wood in the forest, here.) Ace & Cruz & Rachel surely have not made it easy on us, but I’m glad we took the time to go back and fix the start of their book. I’m excited about the story that’s shaping up, and I hope you guys will think it’s worth the wait.
April 1st: SEEEEEKRIT PROJECT! This one is NOT an April Fool’s joke. We’re still being mysterious about the details, but there will be another O’Kane novella–one involving a grumpy, broken O’Kane hero and heroine who’s very good at getting under his skin and making him feel again. You haven’t met either of them yet, but you’ll get a peek at Ford in BEYOND JEALOUSY.
Note about MARKED: After some discussion, we’ve all decided to release MARKED at $2.99 for the month of February, after which the price will go up to normal. We will all be releasing the novellas on our own eventually, but BEYOND TEMPTATION will likely cost $2.99 on its own. So the earlier you buy, the bigger your bargain. We’re going to try very hard to make sure that’s always the case–people who buy first should not pay the most! Because we love you guys.
If you’re on Facebook, check out The Broken Circle VIP Lounge. It’s a group, and full of sexy tattoo pictures and fun chatter, and while we are not always around, we have kickass hostesses who keep the O’Kane whiskey flowing Plus, everyone there is super fun. 😀

Four weeks to go until Beyond Temptation is out, along with the other awesome stories in the MARKED anthology. Have you signed up for the release day notification yet? You wouldn’t want to miss Noah and Emma and their grand adventure. If you’d like a taste of things to come…check out the excerpt below.

Noah tried to smile in return, but the expression wouldn’t come. Not until he got away from all the attention, out of the spotlight and back into the shadows. Not while strangers jostled around him, slapping his bare shoulders and shouting words that flitted past him as an annoying buzz.
He didn’t smile until he found her, standing on the edge of the floor in a circle of respectful space no doubt enforced by the O’Kane ink wrapped around her wrists.
Blood pounded in his ears as he forced past the first knot of admirers. People followed the path of his gaze and began to melt away, until an empty stretch of concrete lined with too-curious spectators was all that stood between him and Emma.
It was too fucking late. Fleming would know he had a weak spot by morning. By tomorrow night, he’d know it was Emma Cibulski.
Fuck, this moment had probably been in the back of Noah’s head all along, buried in that dark place he refused to go, as if avoidance could make it disappear. It had played out so pretty—stick around, put her in just enough danger that leaving would make it worse. Maybe he was everything he’d always feared—selfish and obsessed and lying to himself about whether or not he’d ever planned on letting Emma go.
She was his. Good or bad, twisted or wrong, she was his, and he closed the last few steps with a hungry groan, buried his bruised hands in her hair, and kissed her.
The crowd grew louder, but everything in Noah’s world was Emma—her taste and her tongue and the fingers that clutched at his bare back, drawing him closer to the softness of her body.
She wanted him violent. Bloody. She wanted him demanding, and she was proving it, going sweet and supple beneath his hands, open and eager, giving him everything he’d never dreamed of allowing himself to want.
He growled against her mouth and caught her lower lip between his teeth. Emma shuddered, her hands gliding over his skin—ribs, sides, stomach—to rest on his belt buckle.
Three steps put her back against the wall. Wrapped in shadows, but not hidden—awareness of the crowd behind him prickled along Noah’s bare spine as he braced his hands on either side of her head and licked her plump lower lip. “Something you want, Emmy?”
